SCTEX an EPIC FAIL?

Earlier this afternoon (August 20, Thursday), Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) bridge a portion of it collapsed due to a landslide caused by Typhoon Maring.

Wow. So much for what we call a high end, public expressway. And take note this is the Philippines longest expressway. As far as I know, the government allotted a big amount of money for our highways, roads and bridges. So if we allotted a big money for this then how come the bridge collapsed? Why? Because they didn't really put all the money in that project, they put some of the money in their pockets. Tsk Tsk. hiding something from the filipinos won't last long it will still be revealed in some ways. One example is the SCTEX failure, now it is impassable causing the motorists to find a longer route so that they can manage to travel Clark South going to Porac. Corruption can lead to this. What if this occurred while a motorist is traveling the expressway, then they fell, drowned and of course died. You stole the Filipino money and also become a murderer. Tsk so much for violating the law.

Hey official wake up! What happened to SCTEX is just a wake up call, you are lucky no one died there. I hope San Pedro will still accept you in heaven. This is just one of the future effects of your twitchy palms from stealing the money for the Filipinos.

MONEY=EDUCATION?

According to John W. Gardner "The ultimate goal of the educational system is to shift to the individual the burden of pursuing his education." So if the system should help us in lifting  this educational burden from every Filipinos why does millions of youth are out of school? One of the main reasons is that they cannot afford to pursue a higher form of education. Let us admit not all students are intelligent, most are average so it means that the "most" mentioned are not qualified to enter a public university. Some just don't want to continue studying because they have money not only to provide for their education but also in their everyday needs, so they end up working and stop going to school. Some are really determined to finish their education and get a degree, but "some people" are not like others, so this where the government should enter, this is the point where they should be the one to carry the burden the others cannot lift anymore.

Actually the government didn't lack laws about pursuing affordable quality education there are just some group of people or institutions that are so selfish. It has been declared policy of the state to protect, foster and promote the right of all citizens to affordable quality education at all levels and to take appropriate steps to ensure that such education shall be accessible to all.If a student is not qualified to enter a public university he/she has no choice but to enroll to a semi-private or private university. Semi-private universities also has a qualifications and number of students to be entertained. So they'll end up enrolling to a private university which costs Php 15,000-100,000.00 per semester. Can you see the burden now a low class-middle class family is facing? And the transportation, books and food allowance is not yet included plus the apartment rent is not also included yet. This is already a heavy burden for the Filipino low class-middle class family. But still there are some institutions that go for the 'no permit no exam policy' even if the government already provided a law for this. Last April 19, 2013 the Commission on Higher Education has ordered all 1,800 higher education institutions (HEIs) in the country to make sure low-income students get access to financial aid if they can not meet the deadline for paying tuitionColleges and universities can no longer enforce “no permit, no exam” policy.

Just like the Adamson University, they still have this 'no permit no exam policy' causing the students to pay for they monthly balance so they can take their major examination. And not just that if they are granted to take the examination by promissory note their balance is boosting to Php 87.50 per day. Why do you think a student cannot pay the dues on time? Maybe the incoming money or budget is delayed or they just don't have enough money during that time. As you can see one of the mission of the Adamson University is to follow the example of St. Vincent De Paul who led and organized his contemporaries in creatively responding to those who are in needs but it looks to me that Adamson is not doing their mission. Is this just a mission by name and words? Come one ADU do what you are saying in your mission. Your students are already drowned by your very high tuition fees plus interest, dude you need them out you are a Catholic school you should know what your community is feeling right now especially those your are not financially stable.

Study now pay later is not just a phrase in a 500 peso bill, it is an act so do it. Help your students to finish their education and they will help you too when the time comes when you need help. Education should not be limited for those who can afford it, it should be for everyone who needs and wants it regardless of their status in life. This is not just for Adamson University it is for all the Colleges and Universities that stay blinded of the needs of their students.

Education is one of the most important needs of our country and this is also one of the best solutions we can contribute to Juan Dela Cruz burden so help those in needs cause they will help Juan to overcome its poverty, this is a Domino Effect. Remember what G. K Chesteron said "Education is simply the soul of a society as it passes from one generation to another."

Babying the Informal Settlers Hidden Agenda

Why does the government baby the informal settlers? And take note the houses in their relocation areas came from our taxes. Isn’t it unfair that one of the basic needs will be provided to them without them even working hard for it while other Filipinos work their arses to gain a comfortable and cozy home for themselves?

Honestly they also work hard for it in their own way, most of the informal settlers came from a low class family, some are illiterate, and other literates have only basic education and didn’t even finish high school. They also pay taxes by buying goods and products. But why do the government needed to baby them? You know why? Because this is the government’s way to hide their irresponsibility of their obligations with the destitute citizens of the Philippines. They should provide them education and livelihood programs so that they can help them raised from their poverty-stricken life. But since they steal the money, billions of money provided for the poorest of the poor, unfortunately the paupers has not received the needs the government should give them. And they end up uneducated and unemployed that caused them to live in slum areas because they cannot afford to rent a house or an apartment or even buy a house and  lot or just buy a rights for a piece of land . If the government officials and authorities didn’t steal the fund for the indigents, maybe they won’t be living in slum areas and then the government doesn’t have to baby them. After all giving them houses in resettlement areas will cost less than giving them education and employment. Because you know why? The money they are stealing is enough, no, more than enough for the poor Filipinos needs. That will help this poor Filipinos from the burden they are carrying. Yes some of them are capable of working, but they don’t work. Why? Because they knew that even if they work their arses, it won’t help them if the corrupt officials steal money and make the goods prices higher and higher that almost all of their income will end up paying taxes and bills, in short penniless. Well others worked hard, really hard but they are not given enough and fair value for their work so since equality is gone they will end up being criminals and doing illegal works or they will end up as bums and settle in slum areas. And wait for the government to feed them with the leftover money provided for them. So whose fault is it? Is it the slum dogs or is it the Government? The answer is both but with greater emphasis with the latter. Why? Because they have the power to help those people free from their burden but still they chose to live a saint life persona but a thief inside. They have the power but they didn’t use it very well. So who has least lucky of their game? The poor Filipinos, because they don’t have enough voice to shout their needs, even if they have, their leaders are wearing headphones to deaden out the screaming voices in their surroundings.

So wake up people they are just using the slums to make them look good Samaritans that is helping the needy but honestly this is just a role they are playing what they are giving those homeless Filipinos are just a piece, a tiny little piece the government funds for them. And other big pieces are already in their drawers, wallets and bank accounts. Some are not in cash anymore but expensive cars, luxurious home and elegant jewelries. Wow! So much for working hard! I give them a round of applause for playing the role really well. While we work hard to earn a living and the government fed themselves with the taxes we pay, the Filipino Paupers are like beggars, begging for alms, which is not supposed to happen because the government should provide funds for them so they don’t have to beg for it. And that is IMMORAL, UNFAIR and EVIL.

Something about Respect

For me, RESPECT. Is something you need to EARN,to INVEST, and to GROW. It is a GIVE and TAKE relationship. It is SYMBIOTIC. Respect is not IMPOSED nor BEGGED it is earned and offered. It's not supposed to be one-sided. So if you want people to RESPECT you the way you wanted to be respected, then RESPECT them too. Because RESPECT are for those who DESERVE it not for those who DEMANDS for it. The moment you INSULT someone is the time when their RESPECT for you CHANGED. Remember: Knowledge will give you power, but character respect.

The Bully, The Bullied, and The Bullying Witness

I'm really disappointed that of all people you have the guts to hurt somebody. You have the knowledge of how bullying can affect someone. Do you have no idea of how long things they say can stay in one's mind? You have the power so use them wisely. NEVER PUT SOMEONE ELSE DOWN TO MAKE YOURSELF FEEL BETTER. Prove to me and to everybody that you deserve your title and your profession. Whether its verbal, physical or emotional bullying it is still bullying. And that is not right. You are supposed to be the hero to save someone who is bullied but it turns out you are the evil villain who bullied someone. Haters and bullies are always cowards do you know why? Because they always like to pick on little guys. Tsk, is that why you are using your profession as an advantage? If that so, I feel sorry for you because you need to hide in that damn generic name attached to your given name so that you'll feel stronger and powerful. REMEMBER: PULLING SOMEONE DOWN WILL NEVER HELP YOU TO REACH THE TOP.

One of the quotes I love.
Watch your thoughts. THEY BECOME WORDS. Watch your words. THEY BECOME ACTIONS. Watch your actions. THEY BECOME HABITS. Watch your habits. THEY BECOME YOUR CHARACTER. Watch your character. FOR IT BECOMES YOUR DESTINY
.

For those who are bullied:
If people are trying to bring you down it means that you are ABOVE them. Just one action of fighting them will make them realize that you have the strength to stand against them. IGNORE THOSE PEOPLE WHO IS ALWAYS TALKING BEHIND YOUR BACK, BECAUSE THAT IS WHERE THEY BELONG. BEHIND YOU. They INSULT you because they are INSECURE of something that they are LACKING. Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made as a VICTIM. Accept no one's definition of your life: DEFINE YOURSELF.

If you ever see someone getting bullied, stand up for them. You never know what few words can do, it can save their life. Because if you turn and face the other way when someone is being bullied you might as well be the BULLY TOO.

MY HUSBAND'S LOVER'S PRINCIPLE

My Husband's Lover, many criticizes this tv novel of gma network, some are entertained, proud and taken by this plot.  Some men the straight one said that this is disgusting or immoral to watch, they can't stand watching it. But honestly I don't think the network approved and aired that plot for the sake of just being a new story and also because it is a very intriguing issue to be made as tv novel (yes a part it is). But most of all is not to tell the people that our society accept the third sex already but i think they made it, to make us remember that gays and lesbian are still human with rights, they have feelings, they have emotions. They still eat the same food straight humans eat. The difference is they chose a different pathways. I cannot say that they were born in a wrong body with a wrong gender cause it will be against my beliefs of catholicism but maybe they are born with the right body, right mind but a different heart and desire. My Husband's Lover wants to remind us that people in third sex is still human, they have feelings and emotions and they are capable of loving, and also of being hurt. So keep in mind that they deserve to be loved, respected and cared. God made them but they made their choices, and we need to respect their decisions. don't act as if you are perfect and not capable committing a sin, humans are not perfect so don't pretend to be one. I think that is the goal and the principle of My Husband's Lover.

POVERTY IN THE PHILIPPINES (THE REASONS AND THE UNDERLYING TRUTH)

Poverty. A long time problem of our society, hard to believe but we have been undergoing this kind of economic state for the past decades. Many Filipinos belongs to the lower class or poor families. But what are the reasons for this poverty we are experiencing is it really graft and corruption? Or is there an underlying truth behind this burden Juan Dela Cruz is facing?

The most popular and most-in-demand reason for poverty is Graft and Corruption. It is due to corrupt government officials and their allies. The majority, if not all, and they enrich themselves at the expense of the Filipino taxpayers. In the last 10 years, we witnessed how our leaders actively promoted cheating and stealing. Without corruption in the AFP, peace and order could have been in place a long time ago. Without the fertilizer scam, our farmers could have had a better yield. Without corruption, the state could have provided better education to the youth, who could have been a factor in nation-building. Without corruption in the LTO and traffic enforcers, public transport drivers could have been disciplined and earning more. Without corruption, the state could have put up more industries that produce more necessary products and generate more employment and could have checked poverty. These greedy politicians didn’t realize that the more they steal money the more Filipinos die because of starvation and diseases.
Indolence, ignorance, lack of education and inhibition hard to believe but this also caused poverty. Overpopulation, lack of job opportunities and the proliferation of Juan Tamad’s in our midst that rely only on dole outs because our culture believes that the government is responsible for our care. This belief also led to poverty. We depend too much in our government may it be on food, livelihood or even education. Unfortunately saying Juan Dela Cruz really lack of inhibition we are indolent in nature. Lack of education and damaged moral values, many Filipino’s was not given the opportunity of studying that’s why they are not trained to think for possible making-a-living stuff. Education is one the most important factors in any aspect of economic progress.   It plays a key role in developing any country, and if it's not nurtured well enough, society will just continue their path to regression. In an eager climb to get out of their situation, rural families often move to cities in search of a new life. Since most of them are empty-handed, they often settle and live on land they don't own. And the debilitating mindset of every Filipino, be they affluent or lacking, it is thinking and believing that nothing else can be done for one to prosper and have a good life. It is thinking only of the self and believing only for the self when one has too much of anything and not sharing the ‘extras’ to those who are lacking. It is what we all nurture in our “mind”. What we think, we act, we feel and the rest is a resultant of it.
Economics. Poverty can also be a result of mismanaged economics.  With resources running very low, it is important to balance and utilize whatever is left to efficiently produce goods and services to satisfy growing demands. Everything in our life, especially our basic needs, that we have to satisfy everyday, including the ills of society, are economic in nature. Too expensive commodities that corrupt and unconsciously steal our income, if the middle class families almost not even balance their monthly expenses how come the lower-class families?  Social and culture issues, mentalities such as crab mentality, materialism and consumerism affect the way people progress in society. Dr. Jose Rizal pointed out the necessity of education for Filipinos before we could be granted independence. Without education, Filipinos fail to realize that indolence and love of pleasure and extravagance were bringing them into the quagmire of poverty and hunger. Though education in the Philippines improved at the outset of American rule, their Western education brought about colonial mentality and tightly chained them into the bondage of foreign imperialism. We have failed to utilize to the max the best of Filipino talents and industries, supported by our rich natural resources. Look around our neighboring Asian nations. They depend on their own rather than foreign aid and culture.
Poverty Cycle this is a cycle where there is a certain process in which poor families remain poor in our society. It is like in a rat cage of poverty that someone or a bomb needs to break this thing so we can be free. Natural Disasters, any country in the world will be poor if they experienced nonstop floods and typhoons. This will eventually wash out all the resources a country have. Natural disasters are in inevitable.
And last but not the least the 1909 PAYNE-ALDRICH ACT, which is the free trade of the Philippines with the United States, the latter told RP that this will be beneficial to the Philippines but unfortunately this is not beneficial for us. For this is not a free trade anymore but globalization. For the U.S will buy our raw products such as sugar, tobacco, cotton etc., and they will manufacture this into finished products such as clothes, gadgets, etc., and then they will sell this manufactured products to us. We sell them the raw products for a low price but we will buy the manufactured products for a very high price. Not a smart way to have a business transaction isn’t it? Well this is the scientific explanation of the poverty in the Philippines.
According to Edwin Chinel Monares of Rizal, “while poverty is a result of many factors, the value system of the Filipinos remains to be its major cause. I cannot understand why people would die in hunger when there are a lot of vacant spaces where they can plant. Here, the economically struggling family would have more children than the economically blessed. In slum areas, a lot of parents and children are hooked on vices such as gambling instead of looking for a decent job that can provide them means of sustenance. As the saying goes, life is what you make it; thus, to wallow in poverty is a choice”. So that’s it poverty or being a poor is a choice it’s either you remain poor or push yourself to move your limbs and the muscles under your skull so you can get out of the rat cage in our society.
